In this Act, unless the subject or the context otherwise requires,-
(a) "Senior citizen" means a Nepali citizen who has completed sixty years of age.
(b) "Indigent Senior Citizen" means a senior citizen in any or all of the following conditions:
(1) Having no means of livelihood, source of income or property,
(2) Having no member of the family to provide care and support,
(3) Even if he is a member of the family, he has to lead a neglected or neglected life without nurturing.
(c) "Disabled senior citizens" means physically or mentally disabled senior citizens.
(d) "Care Centre" shall mean a home, ashram or other structure of a similar nature established and operated in accordance with this Act for the purpose of nurturing and caring for senior citizens with or without charge.
(e) "Diwa Seva Kendra" means a home, ashram or other structure of a similar nature established and operated in accordance with this Act to take care of senior citizens during the day time with or without charge.
(f) "Nourishment and care" means activities such as feeding, carrying, sitting, traveling, entertaining and engaging in religious activities and arranging health services for senior citizens.
(Q1) "Children" means popular. A person who has the status of a child according to the law should be considered.
(f2) “Service Centre” means Section: 20A. The following should be referred to as a senior citizen service center and shall be established and operated for the care and protection of senior citizens: a care center, a knowledge transfer center, an ashram or a similar nature will be formed in three levels. It also refers to the government structure.
(c3) "Local level" means rural municipality or municipality.
(g) "Family member" means the following relative of a senior citizen:
(1) Sagol's son, daughter-in-law, daughter, son's grandson, granddaughter (2) If there is no member as per subsection (1), the son, daughter-in-law, daughter, son's grandson, granddaughter who are living separately,
(3) If not a relative as per sub-section (2), other close onesrelative.
(h) "Eligible" shall mean a person entitled to receive senior citizen's pension as per the paragraph related to pension of the Civil Code, 2074.
(i) "Senior Citizens Club" means a club established by senior citizens for the protection of their rights and interests in accordance with prevailing laws.
(j) "Fund" means the Senior Citizen Welfare Fund established as per section 17.
(k) "Designated officer" means the official appointed by the Government of Nepal by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette.
(l) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" shall mean as prescribed or prescribed in the rules or regulations made under this Act.
